We are looking for an enthusiastic, student-centred Careers Officer to join our Careers & Employability Team and play a key role in supporting learners to make informed, ambitious and achievable next steps.

This role is central to delivering high-quality careers information, employability support and progression advice in line with the College’s Careers Strategy and the Gatsby Benchmarks.

 Ideally, you will hold:

• Level 3 Qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance (or equivalent)
• Educated to Level 3 or above
• Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths
• Evidence of recent CPD related to careers guidance, employability, LMI, or Gatsby Benchmarks
• You will also have experience of supporting young people and/or adults in education, training or employability settings.
• Level 4 IAG qualification (or willingness to work towards)

Day-to-day you will be responsible for:

• Delivering impartial careers information and early-stage guidance within Level 3 IAG scope of practice.
• Providing triage, signposting and progression support, referring complex cases to Careers Advisors where appropriate.
• Delivering employability workshops including CV writing, interview preparation and job search skills.
• Supporting the organisation of careers events such as HE Fairs, apprenticeship events and employer talks.
• Maintaining accurate records and contributing to Gatsby Benchmark and Matrix evidence.

As an individual you will be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk, and will therefore be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
