      Lecturer A - Plumbing and Gas
      Full-time - Permanent 37 Hours a Week

      We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and industry-current Lecturer A - Plumbing and Gas to join our Construction and Building Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality training to Plumbing and Gas apprentices, supporting learners to develop the technical skills, knowledge, and professional behaviours required by the industry.

      The successful candidate will bring strong occupational competence, a passion for education, and the ability to translate current industry practice into engaging and effective learning




      What you'll do
      • Teach Plumbing and Gas Apprenticeship programmes, primarily up to Level 3, with opportunities to contribute to wider provision as the curriculum develops.
      • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that integrate practical plumbing and gas installation skills with underpinning knowledge and theory.
      • Use your industry expertise to ensure teaching is current, compliant, and aligned with Gas Safe and employer expectations.
      • Accurately assess learner progress, providing timely, constructive feedback to support achievement and progression.
      • Support learners to develop employability skills, professional behaviours, and a strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental sustainability within Plumbing and Gas.
      • Maintain accurate learner records, assessments, and tracking documentation in line with College requirements.
      • Work collaboratively with colleagues, employers, and the Head of Department to ensure a high-quality, industry-responsive curriculum.
      • Support learner recruitment and promotion activities, including open events, employer engagement, and school liaison.
      • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that enables all learners to succeed.



      What you'll bring
      • Full occupational competence in Plumbing and Gas to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
      • Current Gas Safe registration.
      • Substantial industry experience across Plumbing and Gas installation and maintenance.
      • Strong experience delivering training to Plumbing and Gas apprentices, within an FE, apprenticeship, or workplace training environment.
      • A recognised further education teaching qualification (Cert Ed / PGCE), or a willingness to achieve one while in post.
      • A minimum of Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE or equivalent).
      • Up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and health & safety requirements.
      • Strong organisational skills and a commitment to continuous professional development.
      • Desirable (but not essential):
        • Qualifications and experience in Air Source Heat Pumps and/or Ground Source Heat Pumps.
        • Familiarity with low-carbon and renewable heating technologies

      Essentials
      • Occupational competence in Plumbing and Gas to Level 3.
      • Gas Safe qualified.
      • Level 2 English and Maths (or GCSE equivalent).
      • Teaching qualification (Cert Ed / PGCE).
      • Ability to meet safeguarding and DBS requirements.
      • Commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and learner support.
