Are you passionate about enhancing young people's careers? The School of Health Education and Care is looking for a part time Lecturer who will inspire our learners to achieve their full potential during their time at West Herts College.

The right candidate will plan, deliver, and assess across our Health and Social care courses as well as Psychology program at levels 1, 2, and 3.

The candidate will be responsible for delivering skills and knowledge to high standards through preparing resources, delivering lessons, marking student work, ensuring exam success, and supporting students with their whole programme of study.

We are seeking an adaptable industry specialist to teach and embed essential skills to enable learners to successfully progress to their next steps, whether continuing at West Herts College, Higher Education or employment. Learners complete invaluable work experience placements as part of their study programme, which will launch them into a career in the Health and Social Care sector with skills and experiences that align with their chosen career path.

This opportunity exists for an individual who wants to work in a stimulating environment to inspire our students to achieve their best. The successful candidate will need to have the essential skills and knowledge required in Health and Social Care and Psychology. You will ideally have experience working with young people or apprentices either in a college or an educational setting; having an inspirational and motivational approach is essential to educate and encourage learners towards a successful career.

Applicants should have a degree or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care and or Psychology as well as relevant vocational experience. A teaching qualification would be advantageous; however, full teacher training is offered to the successful candidate.

The successful applicant will become part of a highly motivated team who are dedicated to raising standards and improving outcomes for all learners.

This is a part-time role working 14.5 hours per week at our Watford and Hemel Hempstead Campuses. The closing date for applications is Friday 19 th June 2026. The successful candidate will be joining our team from August 2026.

You'll have the full support of a dynamic team and opportunities to bring your ideas to the role. Training and development are at the heart of everything we do so you'll be encouraged to upskill.

We have a free on-site gym at our Watford Campus and you can access a wide range of discounts and benefits including a cycle to work scheme, free on-site parking, pension, generous holiday scheme, time off at Christmas and early finishes on a Friday.

If you have any questions or queries, please contact a member of the Human Resources team who will be happy to help. WHC Group is positive about disabled people. If you need help applying for a role please contact us.
