Do you have a keen interest in teaching, mentoring and tutoring student’s high academic standards and maximize their potential? If yes then this job might be right for you. This role requires someone with a genuine interest in teaching students and has zero problems with working round the clock in an educational institution.

To be considered as an ideal candidate for this role you must possess the following traits:

  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Ability to infuse technology into the student’s curriculum to meet with the institutions standard.
  • Excellent oral and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with students, parents, administrators, colleagues and other school system staff when necessary.
  • A proven evidence of excellent knowledge and understanding of the teaching and learning process.
  • An understanding of college career readiness standards.
  • A proven commitment to equality of opportunity.
  • A clear knowledge and understanding of the institution's organization, goals, and objectives, curriculum, teaching techniques, current trends, research and materials of instruction in your field of specialization.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively.
  • Excellent time management skill and organizational ability.

You must also meet with some basic educational qualification which will include:

  1. A bachelors degree in an applicable field of education from a recognized and accredited college or university.
  2. A basic understanding of English language.
  3. A masters degree in TESOL or a masters degree in a closely related field with a TESOL certificate will be advantageous.
  4. Proficient in IT skills including Microsoft Office Suite.

These qualifications are mandatory, as they constitute a prerequisite to your consideration into this position.

  1. To perform this job successfully, you will be required to meet the following responsibilities, which includes:
  2. Planning and preparing lessons, assignment and instructional materials for the use of the students.
  3. Establishing clear goals and objectives related to the institution's academic plans.
  4. Establishing learning objectives consistent with the appraisal of students needs and the curriculum framework of the institution.
  5. Evaluating students’ academic progress using appropriate assessment techniques.
  6. Providing professional support and subject matter expertise to other academic staff that enables them to deliver a vibrant curriculum and course offer.
  7. Working collaboratively with other staff to allocate sufficient and appropriate resource to each course within a program and within the institutions budget.
  8. Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge regarding any development in your specific subject area.
  9. Maintaining a conducive learning environment for the benefit of the students to foster learning.
  10. Taking all necessary safety precaution to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities of the institution.
  11. Maintaining accurate and complete records as required by law, institutions board policy, and administrative regulation.
  12. Maintaining communication with the institutions ESOL department on a regular basis.
  13. Attending all staff meetings, ESOL meetings, and faculty meetings in the institution.
  14. Performing other duties as will be required for this position.
