      To perform the demands of this position optimally, you should possess an in-depth knowledge of architecture and its fundamental basics. Also, you should be fully committed to teaching excellence in this field and foster a positive learning environment for students in the institution. You should also possess an interest in self-development, you should be able to keep abreast of lead developments and recent discoveries in your subject area this will help improve your knowledge in your field.

      This role also demands that you possess an exceptional communication skill both in the written and verbal form of communication. 

      Great time management and organisational ability are also important; you should be able to effectively manage your workload even in the face of competing priorities. Strong communication skills are vital both in the written and verbal forms, and without them, you won’t meet the demands of this role effectively. 

      In addition to these desired attributes, you must also meet some basic educational qualifications to be considered for this position. Some of these qualifications will include:

      • A degree in any relevant field from a recognised institution.
      • A basic understanding of English language.
      • Must be proficient in basic IT skills including Microsoft office suite.
      • A master’s degree in architecture, structural design, urban and regional planning or any other related field will be an advantage.
      • A valid teaching qualification.
      • A minimum of 2-3 years works related experience will also be a bonus.

      These requirements are mandatory and are advised to be met because preference will be given to candidates who meet them.

      You will perform many basic responsibilities once you take up this role. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

      1. Preparing and delivering lectures to students on topics such as architectural design methods, regional planning, aesthetics and structures, and materials.
      2. Plan, evaluate and revise curricula, course content, course materials and methods of course instruction.
      3. Keep abreast of current developments in your field by reading current literature and interacting with academic professionals.
      4. Maintain regularly scheduled work hours in order to advise and assist students.
      5. Maintain student attendance records, grades and other required records by the institution.
      6. Assess and evaluate student’s coursework, and examination using the institutions preferred assessment technique.
      7. Collaborate with other academic staff to identify and ensure that the academic needs of students are properly met.
      8. Adhere to all rules, regulations, and policies governing the institution.
      9. Perform other related duties as will be required for this position.
