About the role:

Activate Learning are currently recruiting a casual Dog Day Care Assistant to help supervise and care for multiple dogs in the Merrist Wood Dog Day Care area to oversee dog play, breaks, maintaining a clean facility, and interacting with clients.

Your daily tasks will include daily checks and cleaning, interacting with dogs in the day care, using appropriate dog toys and tools. You will always control level of play by following dog management and control procedures, maintaining visual observation of dogs and spread attention and play.

This is a casual, variable hours contract, working up to 15 hours per week over five days with occasional cover for holidays and events at weekends. As the business develops and grows the opportunity to take on more hours may be available.

What do you need to be successful as a Dog Day Care Assistant?

Dog Day Care assistant role is ideal for someone passionate about dogs of all breeds, ages and size, wishing to develop their experience in a safe and friendly environment.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with dogs and an animal related qualification at Level 3 or above. You'll need an understanding of health issues in dogs, infection control and Health and Safety issues and procedures.

We're looking for candidates who have demonstrable experience of a high standard of canine handling skills, good communication and customer service, preferably in a team environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in animal behaviour, canine related professional development and canine first aid.
