Equine Groom and Student Supervisor (TSO)

JOB TITLE:                     EQUINE GROOM AND STUDENT SUPERVISOR (TSO)

LOCATION:                     CAMBRIDGE

HOURS PER WEEK:       37 PER WEEK (08.00-17.00 SUNDAY, MONDAY/TUESDAY 08.00-15.30, WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY 08.00-17.00)

SALARY:                          £22,551 - £22,751 PER ANNUM

A full time Equine Groom and Student Supervisor (Teaching Support Officer) is required to join the existing team at the College’s equestrian centre at our Cambridge campus. You will work closely with students to provide advice, guidance and support to enable them to achieve their full potential in their studies, both with practical tasks and through maintaining accurate records. 

You will carry out daily yard tasks to a high standard, while also assisting with exercising the horses, (both riding and working from the ground). You will supervise student activity on the College yard and demonstrate sound equine skills and provide support to the students who are training. Other tasks include maintaining stock levels, ensuring that resources are available as needed, and overseeing the day to day care of the horses stabled at the College. 

You will have a minimum of a level 2 qualification in equine (Level 3 desirable), proven experience of working in the industry and strong health and safety awareness.  . You will have a First Aid certificate and Level 2 Maths and English (GCSE A*-C/9-4) or equivalent or be willing to obtain.
