Cybersecurity Trainer

Who we are:

Activate Apprenticeships are now the largest apprenticeship provider in Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Surrey, and continue to increase our delivery across the UK.

Activate Apprenticeships and Activate Business School are part of the Activate Learning group and believe that education should inspire and develop the change-makers of the future. To succeed, we know that we must lead by example.

We see our employees as individuals, empowering them to make the right choices for their ambitions and careers. We value our people as vital to our continued success and aspire to a diverse, open and inclusive environment that provides the motivation for everyone to pursue their career goals and flourish.

Together, we will bring out the best version of yourself.

About the role:

Activate Apprenticeships have an exciting opportunity for a Cybersecurity Trainer to join our team. You'll be creating and delivering engaging and professional training in both commercial and apprenticeship programmes to support our growth into this developing sector. This is an excellent opportunity to apply knowledge gained from a commercial background to supporting learners and improving their lives.

You'll collaborate with stakeholders to create exceptional quality learning materials, and with employers to ascertain their skills gaps and developmental needs and use these to inform your review, refresh and design of inspirational and outstanding learning resources.

Manging a caseload of learners throughout their journey, you'll support them through workshops to their end point assessments, and work closely with colleagues, employers and IQA colleagues to ensure they have the most successful learner journey possible.

This is a permanent, full-time role based at our Guildford College campus, working on a hybrid basis with 2 days per week in the office.

What do you need to be successful as a Cybersecurity Trainer at Activate Learning?

The successful candidate will have a relevant degree or equivalent qualification, or comparable level of experience in a relevant sector such as Cyber security, AI, Innovation, Coding or Data Analytics. Alongside an understanding of the sector and current/future trends you'll need excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

While a relevant professional qualification (e.g., BCS or equivalent), experience in the apprenticeship sector and experience using virtual learning environments would be desirable, they aren't a requirement.

A teaching qualification would be beneficial, but if you don't currently have one we can support you through attaining one with us.
