Overview Reaseheath College is a forward thinking and dynamic College providing an excellent educational experience to over 4,500 students a year. Our Construction department offers a range of courses covering Plastering, Bricklaying and Joinery, with practical teaching to ensure students are industry focused and career ready.
About the role We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Carpentry and Joinery Lecturer to join our team of dedicated educators. The ideal candidate will have both industry experience and a Level 3 trade qualification, providing our students with practical insights and theoretical knowledge essential for success in the field. A teaching qualification is not essential, and the successful candidate will be supported to gain these qualification alongside their employment.
Key responsibilities: - Develop and deliver engaging and innovative teaching materials for Carpentry and Joinery courses.
- Conduct practical demonstrations and workshops to enhance students' hands-on skills.
- Provide individualised support and guidance to students to foster their learning and development.
- Assess student progress through various methods, including assignments, exams, and practical assessments.
- Collaborate with colleagues to continually review and improve the curriculum to meet industry standards and trends.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment conducive to student success.
The successful candidate will: - A Level 3 trade qualification in Carpentry and Joinery.
- Level 2 Maths & English or equivalent.
- Recognised Teaching Qualification (or be willing to work towards one).
- Substantial industry experience in carpentry and joinery, with a strong understanding of current practices and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to upholding high standards of professionalism and integrity.
