Year 5 Teacher - Maternity Cover

Full-Time February Half Term Start 3-Form Entry Primary School Hayes

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a large 3-form entry primary school in Hayes to appoint a strong Key Stage 2 teacher to cover a Year 5 maternity leave from February half term. This is a full-time, long-term role within an established and well-structured KS2 team.

The school is seeking an experienced and confident KS2 practitioner who can maintain strong standards, deliver engaging lessons and contribute positively to the wider school community.

The Role

As the Year 5 class teacher, you will:

• Take full class responsibility, including planning, assessment and marking
• Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons across the KS2 curriculum
• Prepare pupils for the academic expectations of Year 6
• Maintain strong behaviour management in line with school policy
• Attend staff meetings, parent consultations and INSET sessions
• Work closely with parallel teachers to ensure consistency across the year group

This role requires a teacher who can step in confidently and maintain continuity for the class during the maternity period.

Requirements

The school is looking for a teacher who:

• Holds UK QTS
• Has strong experience teaching in Key Stage 2
• Demonstrates secure curriculum knowledge across KS2
• Has strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Can commit from February half term for the duration of the maternity cover
• Works collaboratively within a multi-form entry team

This role would suit an experienced KS2 teacher who is confident managing workload and maintaining high expectations.
