This is an exciting opportunity to join our Executive Team as Assistant Principal - Student Experience & Support, taking strategic leadership responsibility for the full breadth of the student journey. You will lead the Enrich pillar of our Strategic Plan-ensuring every learner benefits from a safe, inclusive, supportive and inspiring environment where they can thrive academically, personally and professionally.
About the role The Assistant Principal - Student Experience & Support will provide strategic leadership for safeguarding, wellbeing, inclusion, employability, student support and personal development. As a Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will set and uphold the highest standards of safeguarding practice, ensuring a culture where safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and students feel safe, listened to and protected.
You will work collaboratively across FE and HE to deliver professional, innovative and compliant services that effectively meet the needs of learners, staff and industry partners. As a member of the college executive team, you will also play a key role in strategic planning, performance and college-wide improvement.
Key responsibilities: - Provide strategic leadership of the College's student experience, setting a culture of high expectations, care and accountability.
- Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, leading all safeguarding, Prevent and online safety activity and ensuring robust compliance and training across the College.
- Lead and support high-quality delivery across Student Services, Residential Life, Wellbeing, Progress Coaches, Inclusion and Careers/Employability.
- Ensure outstanding personal development, tutorial provision and student life activity, supporting learner confidence, behaviour, resilience and employability.
- Build and maintain productive internal and external partnerships, using data, insight and student voice to drive continuous improvement and positive outcomes.
The successful candidate will: - Bring substantial strategic leadership experience within a Further and/or Higher Education setting.
- Have a proven track record of delivering outstanding student experience, safeguarding and support services.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of SEND, high needs funding, safeguarding legislation and the Prevent duty.
- Hold a relevant teaching or professional qualification and be educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Be an inspiring, values-led leader with exceptional communication skills and the ability to build, motivate and develop high-performing teams.
