About the role: College Counsellor
We're looking for a College Counsellor to join our team to provide a confidential, professional counselling service at Reading College Campus.
Delivering a service that conforms to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) code of ethics, our safeguarding policies, and Keeping Children Safe in Education guidelines, you'll encourage equity of access and promote a sense of welcome and privacy for all our learners. Offering 1-1 virtual and face-to-face counselling sessions to students, you'll ensure they have support on a range of common issues.
Alongside this you'll help contribute to college staff development through workshops, training and support, and oversee the recruitment and supervision of placement counsellors acquiring personal development and training as part of their studies.
This is a permanent, part-time position working 20 hours per week during term-time (0.46 FTE) based at Reading College Campus.
What do you need to be successful as a College Counsellor at Activate Learning?
As the college counsellor, you must have the following:
• Diploma in counselling and supervision
• BACP or UKCP accredited (or working towards accreditation with over 200 client hours)
• Experience in a similar role
You should be able to work as part of a team and be an organised individual with excellent customer service skills. It would be highly desirable to have experience providing clinical supervision to trainee counsellors.
