About the Role Working for Cornwall College and based primarily at the Cornwall College St Austell and Duchy College Stoke Climsland campuses, this role is responsible for managing all aspects of the Pre-16 Study Programme and ensuring a positive, inclusive, and engaging experience for all learners, enabling them to achieve their maximum potential.
The postholder will lead a
brand-new Pre-16 provision for Year 11 learners, developed in partnership with Cornwall Education Learning Trust, delivering an innovative curriculum that reflects the industries and sectors supported across the College Group.
Working closely with Curriculum Area Managers, the role will involve developing a broad and diverse timetable that removes barriers to learning and supports participation, confidence, achievement, and progression for young people. A key part of the role will be creating a practical, hands-on, and enjoyable learning experience that inspires learners through meaningful real-world activities and active learning approaches.
The role will include teaching for up to two days per week, with the remaining time focused on curriculum planning and development, collaboration with curriculum teams, partner schools, and external stakeholders, alongside the effective management and coordination of the programme to ensure a high-quality learner experience.
Skills & Experience The successful candidate will have experience of working across a range of funded provision, including 14-16, 16-18, Adult, Community, Apprenticeship, and Higher Education programmes, together with experience of teaching or training within a relevant subject area and Study Programme Management in the Further Education sector.
They should have an understanding of financial and business management relating to curriculum delivery and hold a recognised teaching qualification, such as AET, DET, PGCE, or Certificate of Education (or be willing to achieve this within three years), alongside a minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area and Level 2 English and maths. A degree, Master's qualification, and Level 3 English and maths would be advantageous.
