Job description
  • Eastern Education Group with travel to our campuses onsite at West Suffolk College, Bury St Edmunds, Abbeygate Sixth Form, Bury St Edmunds and One Sixth Form, Ipswich
  • 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year - Permanent
  • Salary: £34,834 per annum - £38,223 per annum

As a Senior People Lead specialising in absence and wellbeing, you will play a pivotal role in promoting a positive and healthy work environment within our Group, your will primarily focus on absence case work and employee wellbeing initiatives while collaborating with the wider HR team to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies and initiatives to effectively manage employee absences across the Group.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in absence management, providing guidance and support to managers and employees.
  • Lead absence case work, collaborating with managers to implement effective absence management resolutions.
  • Drive a culture of wellbeing within the Group, enhancing employee satisfaction, productivity, and retention.
  • Partner with the HR Manager - Employee Relations to manage absence casework across the Group.
  • Support the wider HR team in driving positive outcomes for staff and teams.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in absence management and employee wellbeing initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • CIPD Level 5 or 7/equivalent HR certification is essential.
