About the Role Due to continued growth across the Cornwall College Group and increasing demand within the marine sector, this role will play a key part in supporting expanding learner numbers and strengthening curriculum delivery within the department.
You will oversee all aspects of the learner journey, including attendance, achievement, progression, industry placements, pastoral support, and employer engagement. This role combines high-quality teaching, curriculum leadership, and learner management to ensure students achieve their full potential and progress successfully into apprenticeships, employment, or higher-level study.
The successful candidate will work closely with local marine employers and industry partners to maintain strong employer links and ensure the curriculum reflects current industry practices, emerging technologies, and evolving skills demands.
Skills & Experience The ideal candidate will have experience working across a range of funded provision, including 14-16, 16-18, Adult, Community, Apprenticeship, and Higher Education programmes, alongside experience of teaching, training, and Study Programme Management within the Further Education sector. You will hold a relevant Level 3 qualification as a minimum, Level 2 English and maths, and a recognised teaching qualification such as AET, DET, PGCE, or Certificate in Education (or be willing to achieve this within three years). A degree, Masters qualification, and Level 3 English and maths would be advantageous. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, strong integrity and work ethic, a calm and professional approach under pressure, and a genuine commitment to continuous learning, teamwork, and delivering high-quality outcomes for learners.
