In addition to these requirements, you will possess some educational requirements, which must include-

1.    A degree in a relevant field from a recognised institution.

2.    A driving license.

3.    A basic understanding of English language.

4.    Proficient in IT skills including Microsoft office suite.

These requirements are mandatory as candidates who meet them will be given special consideration.

Core duties of this position will include:

  • Organising and dispatching shipments.
  • Provide transport and logistics services to students and members of staff of the institution.
  • Coordinating drivers, vehicles, loads, and journeys.
  • Negotiating and agreeing to contracts.
  • Managing the execution, direction, and coordination of all transportation matters within the institution.
  • Ensuring that vehicles in the institution are safe and meet legal standards.
  • Managing budgets, organising schedules and routes.
  • Liaising with and managing driving staff and driving shifts.
  • Coordinating the receiving and storage of goods.
  • Ensuring that health and safety measures are duly adhered to.
  • You may also be involved in transportation, stock control, warehousing and monitoring the flow of goods.
  • You will also ensure that the right products are delivered to the right location on time and at a good cost.
  • Developing transportation relationships.
  • Use specialist knowledge, such as mechanical-handling systems, to provide consultancy services.
  • Work on new supply strategies.
  • Confronting climate change issues by implementing transport strategies and good policies.
  • Monitoring transportation cost in the institution.
  • Communicating effectively with students and customers of the institution and ensuring that their requirements are met.
  • Liaise and negotiate with customers and suppliers.
  • Use technological systems to manage stock levels, delivery times and transportation costs.
  • Adhere to all policies and regulations of the institution as regards transportation and logistics services.
  • Perform other duties that this position will demand.
